A SAS(R) CODE TO CORRECT FOR NONNORMALITY AND NONCONSTANT VARIANCE INREGRESSION AND ANOVA MODELS USING THE BOX-COX METHOD OF POWER TRANSFORMATION

A computer program written in SAS(R) code for the Box-Cox family of po wer transformations is presented. The purpose of the program is to sug gest a power transformation for the positive continuous response varia bles in only regression and ANOVA models. A brief overview of data tra nsformation in regression and analysis of variance is given. An exampl e using real data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Envi ronmental Monitoring and Assessment Program/Estuaries (EMAP-E) illustr ates the use of the program.
