K. Stoll et al., 4TH-HARMONIC GENERATION OF A CONTINUOUS-WAVE CO2-LASER BY USE OF AN AGGASE2 ZNGEP2 DOUBLY RESONANT DEVICE/, Optics letters, 22(17), 1997, pp. 1302-1304
We report a doubly resonant continuous-wave CO2 laser frequency-quadru
pling device that generates 200 nW of 2.55-mu m (4 omega) and as much
as 2 mW of 5.1-mu m (2 omega) radiation out of 1.7-W fundamental radia
tion at 10.2 mu m (omega). The quadrupling process results from two re
sonant cascading second-harmonic generations by use of a walk-off-comp
ensated twin AgGaSe2 device (omega --> 2 omega) and a ZnGeP2 nonlinear
crystal (2 omega --> 4 omega). (C) 1997 Optical Society of America.
