MOBILE COMPUTING USING PERSONAL HANDY-PHONE SYSTEM (PHS)

Given the tremendous growth in the cellular phone system and the Perso nal Handy-phone System (PHS), it is to be expected that demands for mo bile computing using those wireless infrastructures. that is mobile co mputer access, will dramatically increase. This paper describes high-q uality and high-speed data transmission technology for PHS mobile comp uting and current PHS data transmission standardization activities. Fu rthermore, wireless agent communication and a service example are pres ented together with the concept of background communication for the co ming wireless multimedia services.
