Abstract
Raman spectroscopy was applied to silicon carbide/carbon continuous fi bre-reinforced ceramic matrix composites to study the microstructure a nd composition changes ire the fibres in the matrices after the consol idation of the composite at high temperatures by hot pressing, and als o the stress distributions in the composites using the reinforced fibr es as sensors.
