The synthesis and structures of [(i-Pr)(2)ATI]Li-2(thf)(I)(1) and )(2)
ATI]Ca(thf)(2)(I)(2)Li-2(thf)(2)[(i-Pr)(2)ATI] (2) (where [(i-Pr)(2)AT
I] = N-isopropyl-2-(isopropylamino)troponiminate) have been described.
The lithium atoms in compounds I and 2 occupy positions above and bel
ow the plane of the aminotroponiminate ligand. The calcium atom in 2 a
dopts a pseudo-octahedral geometry with two tetrahydrofurans occupying
the trans-positions. Compound 1 crystallizes as dimeric units. Crysta
l data with MoK alpha at 193 K: 1, C17H27ILi2N2O, a = 13.217(2)Angstro
