Abstract
The classical (phenomenological) thermodynamics and statistical thermo dynamics are compared. The postulates are given on which both branches of science are based and their importance for solving practical probl ems is explained. The essence of the postulates of classical thermodyn amics is discussed in the light of statistical thermodynamics.
