I. Jelinek et al., THE UTILIZATION OF CAPILLARY ZONE ELECTRO PHORESIS FOR THE ANALYTICALEVALUATION OF TINCTURA-OPII, Chemicke listy, 91(7), 1997, pp. 487-490
A simple and rapid method suitable for the analytical evaluation of ''
Tinctura opii'' preparation has been proposed. Optimization of the con
ditions for capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) was based mainly on t
he evaluation of the influence of beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD) and its
synthetic derivatives dimethyl-beta-cyclodextrin and carboxymethyl-bet
a-cyclodextrin (CM-beta-CD) on the separation of morphine, codeine, th
ebaine, and papaverine as major alkaloid constituents of ''Tinctura op
ii''. The best separation was achieved using the background electrolyt
e consisting of 30 mM aspartic acid 30 mM beta-alanine (pH 3.7) with t
he addition of 5 mM CM-beta-CD. Experimental results demonstrate a hig
h separation power of CD-modified CZE for the structure related morphi
ne alkaloids.
