By using the finite element code ABAQUS for large deformation, the beh
avior of a thin disk clamped at the circumference and loaded at the ce
nter by a rigid flat-end cylindrical punch was studied. The contact be
tween the punch and the disk is assumed frictionless. The load/displac
ement relation is compared with analytical results for a point load an
d they seem to differ by a constant factor for large deformation. This
factor depends on the size of the punch and the internal stress in th
