Abstract
The electrochemical reduction processes of heteropolyanion PMo12O403- in protonic media were investigated by in-situ FTIR spectroelectrochem ical method. Experimental results indicated that the protonational sit e of electroreduction product HnPMo12O403- (n=2, 4, 6, 8) was on bridg e oxygen atom, The infrared characteristic absorption peaks of Mo = O double bound shift to higher frequence after electroreduction of heter opolyanion PMo12O403-. This result can be interpreted from the viewpoi nt of induction effect of proton.
