Abstract
The influence of gender on subsets of scores of Sense of Coherence, Ha rdiness, and personality traits was assessed in relation to psychologi cal well-being using the Sense of Coherence Questionnaire, the Disposi tional Resilience Scale, the Eysenck Personality Inventory, and the 12 -item General Health Questionnaire. In a sample of Open University stu dents (67 men aged 21 to 71 years and 239 women aged 19 to 66 years) s ex differences were found in subsets of scores of Sense of Coherence, Hardiness, personality, and psychological well-being.
