Abstract
This study investigated the predictive validity of the Otis-Lennon Sch ool Ability Test on repetition of a grade and academic performance. 26 1 children were rested at the end of kindergarten and followed for the next three years through the collection of data on academic performan ce from school reports and other information on repetition of a grade. Analysis indicated that the global score on the Otis-Lennon test is r elated (r = -.30) to repetition of a grade and (r = .50) to academic p erformance. Other factors such as age that may be related to repetitio n of grades and academic performance are discussed.
