A. Gilbert, RESULTS OF MICROSURGICAL RECONSTRUCTION A ND SECONDARY SURGERY FOR OBSTETRIC PALSIES OF THE BRACHIAL-PLEXUS, Der Orthopade, 26(8), 1997, pp. 723-728
Since the development of microsurgical methods, the timing and concept
s of surgery have significantly changed in obstetrical palsies. Becaus
e of the high axon regeneration potential in children, early and succe
ssful microsurgical reconstruction of the brachial plexus provides ver
y encouraging results. Such successful nerve regeneration is the basis
for secondary surgery which aims at complete restoration of function
of the upper limb.
