Abstract
Early researchers investigating aging have often been accused of formi ng the foundation for the belief that intelligence peaks in early adul thood and declines steadily thereafter, a concept sometimes known as t he classic aging curve. Documentation in this article indicates that a t lease several early researchers on the subject were actually making very different arguments and that they were well aware of the limitati ons of their data.
