Abstract
Two sodium-cation-conducting, tris(macrocycle) channels, differing onl y in the size of the terminal aryl groups, have been prepared, charact erized, and shown by the planar bilayer conductance method to exhibit qualitative differences in channel activity attributable to the pi-ele ctron surface area difference.
