Abstract
New porphyrins bearing glycosyl groups and alanine moieties to improve targeting on malignant cells were synthesised in four steps. Fluoresc ence properties were extensively determined and indicated aggregate fo rmation in water. These compounds produced O-1(2). Photocytotoxicity o f these molecules against K562 Leukemia cell line was compared to the effect of hematoporphyrin. (C) 1997 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
