We have applied the Varotsos and Alexopoulos model to the Ni-substitut
ed gamma'-Fe4N. With the compressibility and the bulk modulus of pure
gamma'-Fe4N, which are experimentally known, the compressibility of ga
mma'-(Fe1-xNix)(4)N compounds can be estimated in the complete concent
ration range, provided that the lattice spacing data are available. Th
e defect compressibility for gamma'-Fe4N due to the substitution of ni
ckel are obtained from the elastic property of gamma'-Fe4N.
