En. Brodskaya et Em. Piotrovskaya, MONTE-CARLO SIMULATIONS OF THE LAPLACE PRESSURE-DEPENDENCE ON THE CURVATURE OF THE CONVEX MENISCUS IN THIN UNWETTED CAPILLARIES, Langmuir, 10(6), 1994, pp. 1837-1840
The conditions of the two-phase liquid-vapor equilibrium of a Lennard-
Jones fluid in thin unwetted slitlike and cylindrical capillaries of d
ifferent widths were investigated at the temperature 90 K by the grand
canonical Monte Carlo method. One of the main aims of this work was t
he estimation of the surface tension gamma for the curved meniscus (cy
lindrical and spherical). It is shown that the form of the dividing su
rface does not influence the dependence of gamma for a simple liquid o
n the curvature of this surface.
