Abstract
Susceptibility and magnetisation measurements on the dense Kondo compo und CeCu5 are interpreted on the basis of selfconsistent calculations using the non-crossing approximation. Crystal field effects and molecu lar fields are taken into account in both paramagnetic and antiferroma gnetically ordered phases. The results give clear evidence for the pre sence of a Kondo effect on the paramagnetic susceptibility at temperat ures much larger than the Kondo temperature, as well as for a reductio n of the induced magnetic moment under high external fields.
