The plankton stock values of the productive regions of Russian Far Eas
t (the Bering and Okhotsk Seas) were evaluated. The method was used in
which the results of field measurements (the values of primary produc
tion and biomasses of phytoplankton and zooplankton obtained by plankt
on nets and big bottles) were combined with the CZCS maps of surface p
lant pigments distribution. The potential annual production of plankti
vorous fishes in these seas was evaluated.
