Born in Romania in 1877 and dead in France in 1937, Constance Pascal i
s the first French woman psychiatrist. In her 1905-1937 medical career
she gradually climbed up the rings of the asylum hierarchy, becoming
first and Assistant Doctor and finally Chief Doctor of the '' departem
ent de la Seine '', in Maison Blanche, Published in 1911 and antitled
La demence precoce , her book taking up the kraepelinian concepts stil
l remains her best known work today though she wrote anoter two books
together with many publications. Interesting concepts like pharmacolog
ical psychoanalysis, healding narco-analysis, or '' schizodemence prec
oce '', grouping together schizophrenia and dementia praecox regarded
as two, stages of the same mental disorder; have not spread out widely
