Ym. Mu et al., QUANTUM TRANSPORT OF 2-DIMENSIONAL ELECTRON-GAS THROUGH FINITE LATERAL MAGNETIC SUPERLATTICE, Superlattices and microstructures, 22(2), 1997, pp. 135-142
We have investigated the quantum transport properties of electrons thr
ough multiple-magnetic-barrier structures, where the magnetic barriers
are created by depositing ferromagnetic stripes on top of a heterostr
ucture. The transmission coefficient and current-density-voltage (J-V)
characteristic are calculated. It is shown that the quantum transport
is anisotropic and depends on the transmission direction of the incom
ing electron. An external electric held strengthens the anisotropy of
the transmission. The J-V characteristic exhibits negative conductivit
ies similar to a multiple-electric-barrier structure. (C) 1997 Academi
