Ap. Baker et Ba. Glowacki, THE EFFECT OF BI CONTENT ON THE PHASE PURITY AND THE SUPERCONDUCTING CRITICAL-TEMPERATURE OF A SR AND CA DEFICIENT BI-2212 STOICHIOMETRY, Physica. C, Superconductivity, 227(1-2), 1994, pp. 31-39
The change induced by post-synthesis annealing at increased temperatur
es in the c-axis length and the superconducting critical temperature (
T(c)) of BixSr1.8Ca0.9Cu2.0 oxide has been studied. The results are re
ported for BixSr1.8Ca0.9Cu2.0 oxide, where x = 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2. The B
i 2.2 composition shows the expected change in T(c) with the removal o
f oxygen from an over-doped high-temperature superconductor. However,
there are anomalies for x = 2.0 and 2.1 and these are explained by the
presence of Bi9Sr11Ca5 oxide. The differences shown in the measured c
-axis and T(c) for the three compositions are related to Bi substituti
on on the Sr and Ca sites.
