The loss of trace elements during NAA of five liquid reagents, hydrofl
uoric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, hydrogen peroxide and deio
niyed water, has been investigated using 17 radioactive tracers of Sc-
46 Cr-51, Mn-54, Fe-59, Co-60, Zn-65, Se-75, Sr-85, Zr-95, Sn-113, Sb-
124, Eu-152, Yb-160, Lu-177, Ta-182, Pa-233. Two kinds of container, q
uartz and polyethylene have been used for irradiation and also for pre
concentration of the reagents. The containers were cleaned before use
by washing-leaching-rinsing procedure. The reagents were preconcentrat
ed by subboiling evaporation under the infrared lamp in clean bench. T
he loss of trace elements has been revealed to be severer for the reag
ents of hydrochloric acid and nitric acid in the container of quartz t
han for the other cases, while that is lowest for hydrogen peroxide.
