Simultaneous production of carrier free Zr-89 and Nb-90,Nb-91m,Nb-92m
through the (alpha, pxn) and (alpha, xn) nuclear reactions has been pe
rformed by alpha-particle activation of Y2O3 target. The sequential se
paration of the produced radioisotopes from the bulk target matrix has
been achieved through LLX using TOA as a liquid anion exchanger. Form
ation of the carrier free radionuclides in the target matrix and their
purity in different stages of separation have been verified by gamma-
ray spectrometry.
