Gb. Valand et al., IMPACT OF LATE LEAF-SPOT DISEASE (PHAEOISARIOPSIS-PERSONATA) ON GROWTH-PERFORMANCE OF COMMON VARIETIES OF GROUNDNUT (ARACHIS-HYPOGAEA), Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 67(8), 1997, pp. 319-321
A field study during 3 consecutive rainy seasons (kharif) (1991-93) wa
s carried out at Anand to see the impact of late leaf-spot disease cau
sed by Phaeoisariopsis personata (Berk & M.A. Curtis) Van Ant on 'TMV
2' and 'GAUG 2' groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.). Under the luxuriant c
rop growth, micro-and macro-environmental conditions aggravated the la
te leaf-spot disease. 'TMV 2' succumbed more to disease than 'GAUG 2'.
Further, the crop canopy and defoliation of leaves had independent ro
le in determining the impact of disease intensity and degree of resist
ance in groundnut varieties.
