CONCEPTUALIZATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF COGNITIVE SCHEMAS IN PERSONALITY-DISORDERS

A cognitive approach for working with core schemas in patients with pe rsonality disorders is presented. In the cognitive model of A.T. Beck and associates, the schema is a prominent term in the conceptualizatio n of personality disorders. In this article we will first briefly desc ribe the cognitive model of personality disorders, and, secondly, we w ill present some clinical guidelines and techniques for identification of core schemas, which is a fundamental part of conducting cognitive therapy with personality disorders.
