Intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) in BWR reactor interna
ls is a well understood phenomenon which can incur considerable remedi
al costs. This paper describes the basis for establishing and confirmi
ng the conditions of mitigation of the various components. Methods to
deal with undesirable side-effects of hydrogen water chemistry will al
so be reviewed. Finally, the use of new technologies to deal with thes
e side-effects will be addressed.
