MR cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is a recent and exciting imaging mo
dality that allows visualization of bile and pancreatic ducts without
morbidity. Althought the technique of MRCP is in its early stages of d
evelopment and MRCP technology is progressing MRCP will undoubtedly re
place traditional techniques such as diagnostic ERCP. This article des
cribes MRCP findings in bile or pancreatic duct diseases, analyzes the
accuracy of MRCP in these diseases, and discusses the potential role
of MRCP in evaluating the pathology of the biliary tract and pancreas.
