La. Cabrera et al., TUNING THE STATOR RESISTANCE OF INDUCTION-MOTORS USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL-NETWORK, IEEE transactions on power electronics, 12(5), 1997, pp. 779-787
Tuning the stator resistance of induction motors is very important, es
pecially when it is used to implement direct torque control (DTC) in w
hich the stator resistance is a main parameter, In this paper, an arti
ficial network (ANN) is used to accomplish tuning of the stator resist
ance of an induction motor, The parallel recursive prediction error an
d backpropagation training algorithms were used in training the neural
network for the simulation and experimental results, respectively, Th
e neural network used to tune the stator resistance was trained on-lin
e, making the DTC strategy more robust and accurate, Simulation result
s are presented for three different neural-network configurations show
ing the efficiency of the tuning process, Experimental results were ob
tained for the one of the three neural-network configuration, Both sim
ulation and experimental results showed that the ANN have tuned the st
ator resistance in the controller to track actual resistance of the ma
chine.
