J. Trotzschel et al., FORMATION OF DISORIENTATIONS IN ALUMINUM SINGLE-CRYSTALS DURING HOT-COMPRESSION, Materials science & engineering. A, Structural materials: properties, microstructure and processing, 234, 1997, pp. 842-845
The occurence of disorientations in dislocation structures is investig
ated for hot-compressed aluminium single crystals with [001] orientati
on. The local orientations are determined by means of electron backsca
ttered patterns (EBSP) for sampling points with a constant point dista
nce smaller than the dislocation cell or subgrain size. Accordingly, a
procedure for the evaluation of the measured orientations is develope
d which takes into account that adjacent sampling points are separated
by a dislocation boundary only occasionally. Additionally, the substr
ucture of the crystals is characterized by rocking curves and TEM. (C)
