We present data of the magnetic susceptibility chi(T) and electrical r
esistivity rho(T) for the hexagonal URuGa (space group P (6) over bar
2m). Below 7 K, chi increases rapidly and the data can be described by
the expression chi(T) = chi(0) (1 - a root T). rho(T) in zero field f
ollows the activated form: rho(T) similar to exp (E-a/2k(B)T) with E-a
= 1.9 meV. In an applied magnetic field of 1 T, the resistivity varie
s as rho(T) similar to bT. Between 18 and 250 K the resistivity is lin
ear in -ln T and consistent with a Kondo-like effect.
