R. Cerny et al., A 2-PHASE MOVING BOUNDARY-PROBLEM WITH 2 MOVING INTERFACES IN LASER PROCESSING OF MATERIALS, Computational materials science, 8(3), 1997, pp. 228-242
An algorithm for the solution of a moving boundary problem with two mo
ving interfaces describing pulsed-laser heating of metals and semicond
uctors is presented. Contrary to dir: standard Stefan-type models. mel
ting and evaporation due to laser irradiation are treated as: nonequil
ibrium processes. Computational implementation of the model is discuss
ed and results of numerical experiments :ire given. The significance o
f various boundary conditions in modeling fast processes is tested and
the effect of including evaporation into the model is discussed. (C)
