Ha. Mckay, VESICOVAGINAL AND VESICOCUTANEOUS FISTULAS - TRANSURETHRAL SUTURE CYSTORRHAPHY AS A NEW CLOSURE TECHNIQUE, The Journal of urology, 158(4), 1997, pp. 1513-1516
Purpose: We assessed the usefulness of endoscopic treatment of vesical
fistulas. Materials and Methods: Two bladder fistula patients underwe
nt transurethral surgery in an attempt to close the fistula. Results:
Both patients were cured of the fistula, without undergoing an open pr
ocedure. Conclusions: Cystoscopically assisted suture closure of vesic
al fistulas can be a successful procedure in selected patients. Nontra
ditional instrumentation and technique allowed for transurethral closu
re of these fistulas.
