STUDIES OF XPS AND ORD ON TERNARY LANTHANIDE COMPLEXES OF D-CAMPHORICACID AND 1,10-PHENANTHROLINE

Six new solid ternary complexes of lanthanide with D-Camphoric acid an d I,10-phenanthroline being formulated here as Ln(2)(Phen)(4)L-3 [Ln=L a(III), Pr(III), Sm(III), Eu(III), Tb(III) and Ho(III), Phen=1,10-phen anthroline and L=D-camphoric acid] have been synthesized and character ized on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance, UV, IR, XP S, Optical rotatory dispersion(ORD) and fluorescence spectrum. An eigh t coordinated binuclear bonding model is proposed for the complexes.
