Pct. Hannan et al., COMPARATIVE SUSCEPTIBILITIES OF VARIOUS ANIMAL-PATHOGENIC MYCOPLASMASTO FLUOROQUINOLONES, Antimicrobial agents and chemotherapy, 41(9), 1997, pp. 2037-2040
The in vitro activities of six antimicrobial agents were tested agains
t 162 mycoplasma strains of eight species isolated from poultry and li
vestock at different geographic sites. Tiamulin was most active (MICs
at which 90% of the isolates were inhibited [MIC(90)s], 0.025 to 0.25
mu g/ml); enrofloxacin and danofloxacin had near equivalent activities
(MIC(90)s, 0.05 to 1.0 mu g/ml), but were much more active than flume
quine (MIC(90)s, 1 to 50 mu g/ml). The MIC(90)s of tylosin and oxytetr
acycline were 0.25 to > 100 mu g/ml and 0.25 to 100 mu g/ml, respectiv
ely.
