Abstract
In the investigation of a complex vibrating system containing an isola ted nonlinearity, the authors expected to see an evolution of the dyna mical complexity similar to the Sarkovskii sequence. It is suggested t hat this is a misconception, based on the literature. (C) 1997 Elsevie r Science Ltd.
