Lm. Yu et al., SCORE ON THE EXAMINATION FOR PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE IN PSYCHOLOGY AS AFUNCTION OF ATTRIBUTES OF CLINICAL-PSYCHOLOGY GRADUATE PROGRAMS, Psychological science, 8(5), 1997, pp. 347-350
Graduate programs' correlates with doctoral recipients' scores on the
Examination for Professional Practice ill Psychology (EPPP) were deter
mined. Higher EPPP score was associated with larger faculty-to-student
ratios, smaller clinical programs, traditional as opposed to professi
onal program orientation, and Ph.D. rather than Psy.D. awarded. Progra
ms approved by the American Psychological Association and those that s
cored favorably on a number of objective indices also produced graduat
es with high EPPP scores. Among the more frequently used admissions re
quirements, median Quantitative score on the Graduate Record Examinati
on correlated most highly with EPPP score.
