S. Tsuneda et al., LOCAL MOBILITY OF POLYMER-CHAIN GRAFTED ONTO POLYETHYLENE MONITORED BY FLUORESCENCE DEPOLARIZATION, Chemical physics letters, 275(3-4), 1997, pp. 203-210
The fluorescence depolarization method was used for investigating the
local mobility of polymer chains grafted onto a porous polyethylene me
mbrane. The real value of the rotational diffusion coefficient of a da
nsyl probe attached to the grafted polymer chain was obtained by using
a correction method which eliminated the effect of multiple scatterin
g on fluorescence anisotropy, The rotational mobility of the dansyl pr
obe attached to the grafted polymer chain was sensitive to both degree
of grafting and solvent polarity, which indicated that the conformati
on of the grafted polymer chain and the pore size of the base membrane
strongly governed the dynamic parameters of the grafted polymer chain
