THE THERAPEUTIC USE OF THE LIVE VACCINE PERMAVAX(R)-TRICHO AGAINST CATTLE RINGWORM

297 cattle suffering from ringworm were used to study the therapeutic effect of Permavax((R))-Tricho vaccine under field conditions. All ani mals were cured after 112 days. 84,5 Percent of the animals could be c onsidered cured 56 days after ending the treatment. The intensity of t he disease could also be diminished. The vaccination had no effect on the general well-being. At 6,1 per cent of the injections local swelli ngs of the muscle were palpated. This not-painful alterations disappea red after an maximum of four weeks. Lameness was not observed.
