R. Tatchyn et T. Cremer, DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS FOR A DUAL-ETALON SEED-LIGHT PREFILTER FOR HIGH-ENERGY LCLS APPLICATIONS, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 393(1-3), 1997, pp. 110-113
A flexible seed-light generation and coherence filtering scheme is con
sidered for a 1.5 Angstrom FEL operating at 15 GeV. For R&D applicatio
ns the configuration allows the FEL to be operated in a combination of
Self-Amplified Spontaneous Emission (SASE) and Coherent Amplifier (CA
) modes. Selected design and performance parameters are discussed.
