Abstract
The modified Murashige & Skoog liquid medium supplemented with 5 mg be nzylaminopurine l(-1) induced germination of somatic embryos when usin g filter paper support. A similar agarose-solidified medium did not in duce germination of somatic embryos. Plant regeneration was higher in the leaf rust susceptible wheat cultivar, Palmiet, than in the near is ogenic resistant line, PalmietLr34. These plants were green and health y with well developed roots.
