X. Quantin et al., IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL DETECTION OF P53 PROTEIN AND PROGNOSIS OF SURGICALLY RESECTED NON-SMALL-CELL LUNG-CANCER, Cancer detection and prevention, 21(5), 1997, pp. 418-425
We analyzed the survival of 89 surgically treated patients presenting
non-small-cell lung cancer in regard to the accumulation of p53 protei
n as detected by indirect immunoperoxidase reactivity of PAb1801 anti-
human p53 protein. Although the well-known factors such as stage group
ing, tumor status, and nodal status were found to be prognostic determ
inants, the p53 protein accumulation had no effect on either univariat
e analysis or multivariate analysis of survival.
