Gj. Baxter et al., COMPARISON OF TRANSMISSION ELECTRON-MICROSCOPY AND OPTICAL MICROSTRUCTURES IN AL-1-PERCENT MG AFTER PLANE-STRAIN COMPRESSION, Journal of Materials Science, 32(17), 1997, pp. 4591-4594
Modelling the microstructural evolution of aluminium alloys during hot
rolling operations is becoming increasingly dependent on accurate mea
surements of the deformed microstructure using transmission electron m
icroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and light microscopy. In this
paper, an experimental technique which directly compares the microstru
cture observed in thin foils with that observed using light microscopy
is described.
