G. Martimestres et al., OPTIMIZATION WITH EXPERIMENTAL-DESIGN OF NONIONIC, ANIONIC, AND AMPHOTERIC SURFACTANTS IN A MIXED SYSTEM, Drug development and industrial pharmacy, 23(10), 1997, pp. 993-998
In a mixture experiment the response depends only on the relative prop
ortions of material present in the mixture. In this study, we consider
shampoo formulations with three different classes of surface-active a
gents: amphoteric, nonionic, and anionic mild surfactants. A major pur
pose of this study is to help the formulator with a strategy using a t
hree-component simplex-centroid design. This methodology offers the ma
ximum return in terms of information about the interplay of multiple f
actors while requiring the minimum investment.
