N. Hemati et al., SHORT-RANGE SOLVATION OF PHENOLS IN PROTON-TRANSFER COMPLEXES - OCCURRENCE OF SOLVATION BY PROTON DONORS, Journal of molecular structure, 322, 1994, pp. 329-336
Short range solvation effects are alterations in the reactivity of sol
utes as a result of direct interaction, usually by hydrogen bonding, w
ith solvent molecules. We report the occurrence of solvation structure
s involving dissolved phenol-amine proton transfer structures between
unshared electron pairs of the phenol, particularly the phenol oxygen,
and proton donating solvents.
