Abstract
Short range solvation effects are alterations in the reactivity of sol utes as a result of direct interaction, usually by hydrogen bonding, w ith solvent molecules. We report the occurrence of solvation structure s involving dissolved phenol-amine proton transfer structures between unshared electron pairs of the phenol, particularly the phenol oxygen, and proton donating solvents.
