Ef. Queiroz et al., SPINENCIN, A NEW BIS-TETRAHYDROFURAN ACETOGENIN FROM THE SEEDS OF ANNONA-SPINESCENS, Journal of natural products, 60(8), 1997, pp. 760-765
A new bis-tetrahydrofuran acetogenin with a C-28/C-29 vicinal diol, sp
inencin (1), was isolated from the MeOH extract of Annona spinescens,
in addition to the known compounds, almunequin (2), bullatanocin (3),
isodesacetyluvaricin (4), squamocin K (5), desacetyluvaricin (6), and
neoannonin (7). The structure of 1 was elucidated by spectroscopic met
hods including electrospray ionization and high-energy MS/MS and confi
rmed by chemical transformation. The ESI-MS/MS of 2 and 3 were also in
vestigated, and it was found for 1-3 that very high levels of radical-
cationized species were observed in the charge-remote fragmentation (C
RF) processes.
