Abstract
How I spent my vacation: Undergraduates who spent their summers conduc ting research are richer for the experience, even if they don't intend to pursue science as a career; scientists who serve as mentors for su mmer undergrad projects say they, too, benefit in several important wa ys from close contact with the students.
