Abstract
The technology ingredients are today available for making the Interact ive Media services march into our homes. This would truly usher in the Information Age, and change the world-order itself. There have been a spate of approaches by major companies in the world for ushering in t he interactive multimedia services, and each of these approaches have faced socio-economic problems. The paper discusses the nature of Inter active Media and the key issues and philosophies which will contribute to its success. It concludes with a model for Interactive Media servi ces which is specially well suited for developing countries such as In dia.
