Ag. Pshenichnikov et al., EFFECTIVE DIFFUSION-COEFFICIENT IN ELECTROCHEMICAL SYSTEMS WITH MATRIX ELECTROLYTES, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 33(8), 1997, pp. 819-824
The effective diffusion coefficient in an electrolyte-containing porou
s capillary matrix is considered as a function of a number of factors
that determine operation of electrochemical devices with matrix electr
olytes. The reasons for anomalously high effective diffusion coefficie
nts are analyzed. The structure of an electrolyte-containing capillary
membrane is shown to be related with the electrolyte concentration gr
adient at the interface between the electrode and electrolyte-containi
ng matrix.
