MODELING AND ANALYSIS OF MIXED-FLOW GRAIN DRYER

The nature of the mixed-flow drying process was investigated experimen tally and by simulation. Experiments proved that non-uniform drying oc curs among the grain kernels; they pass through the dryer along differ ent paths because of the non-uniform airflow and grainflow patterns in mixed-flow dryers. A two-dimensional drying model was developed to si mulate the drying process. The model confirms the non-uniform drying c haracteristics of the mixed-flow dryer.
